His work aims to visualize the mystery of male sexual energy, strength and vulnerability. Van Breukelen is fascinated by the shadowiness of (homo)sexuality! with all its contorted facets. At the same time, he discloses the innocence and purity of desire, the search for contact and communion. His work sheds light on features which daylight cannot normally tolerate.
